Baby T. Showered in New York!

26 Jun

To say that the Trottier Trio feels incredibly lucky is a big.fat.understatement.

It is undeniable that this baby is SO loved and that Scott and I are SO fortunate to have such amazing family and friends in our lives.  Enjoy pics and details from our NY baby shower!

Our parents threw the shower with the creative and organizational help of 3 of my best girlfriends – Christina, Lisa, and Kristen.  Wait until you see just how awesome they are!  (I knew nothing about details in advance…I’m a sucker for surprises!)

THE INVITATION -

Awesome ideas!

THE ROOM DECOR -

Do you see more pink or blue

Gerber daisies – my fav. flower!  Note the blocks.  Everyone designed a block with markers while I opened gifts.  That’s a whole other blog within itself!  The table numbers were framed pics of me and the bump (the weekly pics that you see on here).  So creative!

75 books later!!!  =)

Dessert/candy table – yum!

See anything on this table that I’m obsessed with?

JOLLY RANCHER JELLY BEANS – these girls are THE BEST!!!

Adorable game (click to enlarge if you wanna read how it’s done)

My cousin Naomi’s creation!

What everyone completed as a keepsake for Baby.  Yet another separate blog of its own!

“Hi!” from me and Baby T.

Me and Gram!

I don’t have any pics with my girlfriends or parents or anyone else really.  These events just go by so quickly and then I say, “Oh shoot, no pics again!!!”  I did, however, manage to get a pic with hot Daddy to-be…

And I didn’t even break my face wearing heels!

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SHOWERED BABY T. WITH LOVE AND WISDOM.  We appreciate you all more than you will ever know!!!

XOXO

p.s. I left NY with 3 bags of out of season Jolly Rancher Jelly Beans!!!  I’m almost done with bag #1!

Week 31

6 Jun

*Week 31*

CURRENT STATS

Percentage Cooked: 78%

Baby Size:  My guess is 3 pounds, 6 ounces?

Countdown to Baby: Less than 9 weeks (220 days down, 60 to go!)

Symptoms: Some serious charley horse cramps are going on in my calves.  At first these attacked and woke me up in the middle of the night.  NOW they strike whenever they’re feeling fancy.  As long as they don’t make me fall (y’all know I’ve been clum-zy!), I can deal!

Baby isn’t so much kicking these days as rolling, stretching, and glowstick dancing (ya know, it’s like a rave in there!).  It’s crazy to watch my belly change shape with Baby’s gymnastics.  [Sidenote: Baby T. does have a serious chance of arriving during the 2012 Summer Olympics!]  The new movement is sometimes uncomfortable, but still amazing.  Baby can’t help it that he/she is running outta room in there!

This innie is really becoming an outtie now.  Maybe not through my clothes to YOU, but certainly when I feel it to ME!

I’m noticing the fat increase in my face…and I’m not feeling it.  I’m good with my body getting bigger (I mean, what choice do I have!), but is it really necessary for my head get in on the fun?!

My hands are swelling 1-2 times a day.  Not to the extreme of my rings not fitting/feeling uncomfortable, but bad enough.  If this swelling stays contained to my hands, I will consider myself one lucky pregnant chica!  FAT chance, though [pun intended!].

Cravings:  Oreos and ice cold beverages – still nothing new here

Weight Gain: Prob 24 lbs…I don’t think this NY trip is going to help me any!

Related Purchases: I think we were too busy finishing up work and packing to buy anything.  It’s GAME ON when we get back home!  That nursery needs some Trottier TLC!

Fear of the Week: Keeping this baby in my belly during our NY trip.  A co-worker just had her little boy 4 weeks early and a neighbor just had her little girl 7 weeks early.  YIKES!

Relief of the Week: NO MORE WORK FOR MANY, MANY WEEKS =)

The first leg of our travels is over and went fairly well!

Randomness: We had our maternity photo shoot last weekend downtown with Kayla Jones Photography.  It went great!  Here is a little sneak peek of our shoot.  (Of course we had to be silly — have we met?!)

Scott’s Quote of the Week: “Who knew a baby created so much cardboard???”

He’s SO right!  Scott has made many-a-stop at the recycling center in the past couple of months with the packaging from all of baby’s gadgets.

I cannot wait for Baby T.’s baby shower this weekend!  I hope to have lots of pics to share!!!

xoxo

p.s. Um, it’s a high of 67° here in Upstate NY today.  We’ve used Scott’s parents’ gas fireplace twice so far – haha.  The weather looks to improve as the week progresses, though…80s by the end of the week!

I’m Not Ready (brrrr!)

16 Dec

We’ve had ridiculously warm temperatures in Charleston lately and I.LOVE.IT!

So here is Charleston’s forecast for the week we’re in NY…

VERSUS the forecast in Upstate New York…

We’re looking at a 30 degree gap, people.

Can I get a – what?  really?

I know it’s December and that I lived in that climate for 27 years, but MAN, me-no-likey.

Better get packing my sweaters!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY, Y’ALL!!!

p.s. Who thinks we’ll get a snowstorm while we’re in NY?  Obviously the meteorologists aren’t thinking so, but I just have a feeling.

p.s.s. Can’t wait to see all of our NY favs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
