Week 34
28 Jun
*Week 34*
CURRENT STATS
Percentage Cooked: 85%
Baby Size: Close to 5 lbs.!
Countdown to Baby: Less than 6 weeks (242 days down, 38 to go!)
Symptoms: The swelling has solidified my cankle status, by about noonish each day. I’ve been leaving my rings on the holder and my feet no longer fit in my sneakers.
I need a pedicure. Like yesterday. My dogs are in rough shape from all of this extra weight!
Sleeping is not going so well. For instance, exhibit A, check this out…3am is my jam. Going to sleep around midnight and getting up at 3am makes for quite the interesting day. Not.enough.sleep.people. NOT.ENOUGH.SLEEP.
Sure I pee a lot and sure comfortable positioning has gotten quite impossible, but I can deal with both of those. It’s my brain that I cannot manage to get back to sleep. Scott says I am officially building a nest. I think he’s right. I cannot stop making lists, checking items off of lists, making revised lists, and then making lists of lists that I still need to make.
I am an organizing machine…I want to make sure we have EVERYTHING and that this baby’s nursery is JUST RIGHT. Phew – though – I am exhausted by the time most people are just warming up for the day!
Cravings: Oreos, ice cream, watermelon, and Shirley Temples
Weight Gain: 29 lbs. as of today’s Dr. appointment!
Related Purchases: LOTS – my brain hurts trying to remember it all, so just trust me and keep waiting for a nursery update!
Fear of the Week: We still haven’t had our car seat bases installed, I need new glasses (like 3 years ago) so I can see my child in the middle of the night, I’m quite possibly forgetting major necessary items for Baby, and I have some DIY projects for Baby that I haven’t even started yet.
Relief of the Week: Weekly Dr. appointments. Most of my maternity clothes still fit (about ½ comfortably).
Randomness: We had our last hospital class this week – Baby Boot Camp! We learn all about the basics of swaddling, diapering, bathing, and other necessary safety stuff. Scott ROCKED IT!
We finally met Baby’s T. pediatrician this week. Good vibes.
Scott’s Quote of the Week: 1. Me (unpacking gifts) – “Okay, so – nipple brushes.” [holding a package of the following nipple brushes]
Scott – “For you or for the baby?”
Me – “Babe. To clean the bottle nipples.”
Scott & Me - [intense laughter]
2. Me (talking about Scott’s brother and girlfriend’s upcoming visit) – “I wanna make a list for Johnny and Mandy of places they need to check out, resturants to go to, and all of that jazz. Just as a guide, ya know?”
Scott – “Please don’t talk to me about any more lists!”
3. Me – “Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.”
Scott – “I’m not listening.”
Fair enough. At least he tells the truth.
Sorry this post is so late - girlfriend’s almost 35 weeks. Oops!
xoxo
p.s. Baby and I are straight up scared of this forecast. Thank you air conditioning and DVR.
Beach Count: 76
Pool Count: 29
High Temperature: 85°

nipple brushes – for who? HAAAAAAAAA i just lost it!
I know – I died.
S,
Wait to get new glasses, I didn’t and my script change about 6 months after baby was born. Your script changes with hormones and once I stopped breast feeding so did my script.
Good luck!
Christy
Thank you for the advice! My eyes progressed to 3 prescriptions worse just from pre to post pregnancy! I can’t wait though. The glasses I have now are from the beginning of college, like 12 years ago. I can barely see the TV with them at night – can’t drive in them or anything like that. I can’t imagine the mess I’ll make of diaper changing with what I have now! If I need new ones again next year, I’ll just have to deal!!! =)
Oh, I was going to say the same about the eye appt. Prat usually suggests waiting till the baby has come as prescriptions often change. However, I totally get not being able to see through your current glasses! If that’s the case, maybe you can get a nice pair at Lenscrafters or one of those places (not the eye doctor). The price will be less. Also, you look great! Your shower looks amazing. Anne is talking up a storm….sometimes WAY too much. Still holding onto my guess of a girl coming your way.
Glad you found a pediatrician you like.
Thank you for the (trusted) advice! I won’t go crazy on buying thee glasses for the next 10 years, but instead will buy a “for now” pair! Give Anne a big hug for me – I bet she is loving all of the summer festivities you planned for her! We still think girl, too…we’ll see soon enough!!! =) Miss you guys!
