Charleston’s #1! (well, almost)
Travel + Leisure Magazine just released their “World’s Best 2011 Awards” including the best hotels, cities (U.S. and otherwise), cruises, islands, spas, airlines, and more. This index is voted by readers and it’s the survey’s 16th year.
My lovely Charleston, South Carolina tops the list for the Best U.S. (or Canadian) City! Okay, it’s #2. Sooo close! GOOOOOO CHARLESTON! (Check out the list here!) New York City was #1. But listen, Charleston was #3 according to T+L’s 2010 survey. SO, moving up only one more spot would make us #1 on the 2012 survey. Watch your back, New York City! I will consider this a sibling rivalry challenge. My brother via NYC vs. ME via Charleston. Game on, brother!
I will prove my point now (why wait?) as a party of 1. Here goes!NYC – Gray Charleston – Colorful √ NYC – Pointy Charleston – Square (shape-wise, not in personality) √ NYC – Smelly Charleston – Not Smelly √ NYC – Tall buildings everywhere Charleston – The tallest buildings are the church steeples √ NYC – Ginormous Charleston – Manageable in size (some may say it’s smallish) √
I could go on for days…but, unfortunately, I’m already bored.
I agree that NYC is an amazing place to visit! But, I obviously tend to prefer Charleston. Biased? Yes. Wrong? No!
Charleston got some other press last week. It was voted #3 out of “The 10 Hottest Spots to Start a Small Business,” according to The Fiscal Times. Check it out!
I wanna start one. What should it be?!
p.s. Brother, are you reading? Hmmm…
p.s.s. Savannah, Georgia came in as the #7 city – the first time in the top 10. Congrats! It’s time for us to make the 2 hour drive to check it out, eh?
p.s.s.s. Friends and family, do you really need anymore evidence to visit the Trottiers?!
