The Southern Wedding!
*Dum dum de dum*
I was honored and excited to be invited to my very first Southern wedding. My friend, Buffie (yes, I have an Southern friend named Buffie!) invited Scott and I to her and Jay’s upcoming nuptials. Scott’s brother was going to be in town, so I planned on going stag with some girlfriends from work. I was glad to have a wedding in the works, cause it had been a while. I hadn’t gone to a wedding since last October. Longest wedding-less stretch in 6 years! I was having a wedding dry spell, so thank you Buffie for bringing on the feathery rain!
Speaking of rain…the weather called for some pretty intense weather. Rain. Wind. Tornado. Oh my! Luckily, the only part of the forecast that came to fruition was the wind. And seriously – celebrities pay for wind on tour and at shoots, so I’m sure it made for some dramatically brilliant photo ops. Things were all good in the hood. No weather would’ve ruined this beautiful day for Buffie and Jay. Story through pictures (that I did not take enough of, per usual) – commence!
GORGEOUS church downtown – picture taken by a bridesmaid in the balcony (yes, I stole some pics from Facebook). Best choir at a wedding e.v.e.r. The pews had little doors that opened and closed like a carnival ride – so cute. Beautiful ceremony!
View from the cocktail hour on the patio at a local country club (unnamed as to not incriminate myself…you’ll see why).
An awesome feathery centerpiece that Jen and I HAD to have our picture in front of. Side note: Wish I would’ve actually done something with my hair for this wedding. And did the-hand-on-the-hip. AND had better posture. What can I say? I’m rusty at weddings!
Here we were after we kicked off our shoes and ran out to the 18th hole for a pic or 2. NOT my idea…total peer pressure. It’s written all over my face – haha. Good times, ladies!
Stolen from FB yet again…so sweet. Congrats Buffie and Jay!
My favorite parts of this Southern wedding? Gorgeous ceremony, great band, the mashed potato bar (yum!), beautiful setting, seeing 2 people in love SO happy, and (drumroll please…) THE PERSONALIZED KOOZIES!

p.s.s. Our 18-day stretch of visitors has ended. Wahhh!
